How I got my start in Streaming

Influencers come in many sizes, some are small while others are huge. We all want to be like our heroes or even like a famous celebrity. As streamer and video game influencer since 2018, I had no Idea that this would be my story or even reach over 19,000 followers on all platforms. A few streamers that I watched during Facebook gaming growing pains where "Leah Ashe", "RyaStream", "Lasercorn"," Stonemountain64" to name a few.

Facebook was just getting onto the scene of online video game streamers using streamers from other platforms to come build there brand. Before I streamed on any platform I connected with people through Grand Theft Auto V online on XBOX, then starting in 2018 Xbox rolled out an app for consoles. I was willing to give that a try. I mastered streaming to console, but wanted to be on my pc which was a regular laptop that did not have a lot of memory. I researched software to see if any is compatible with my laptops, so i had to see what I could afford at the time. I wish i had a picture of my original set up still to show where I have been. The set up consisted two laptops one for streaming while the other was monitoring chat along with a tablet, and a built in webcam on a very small student desk. This is the laptop that I did most of my streaming and viewing when no one was watching. I will talk later on in another post where I have been and where I am going.

I said one day that I want to be just like them, but how can I get there? I had a very little budget to accomplish this goal, but I used what I had. In my spare time I worked on computers, like the one you see above which this laptop has been factory reset numerous time to be distributed out to church and neighbors. I took my knowledge of gaming, PC, and love for entertaining and put my life on social media so everyone can be apart of my life. The journey has been long and I have met so many people along the way. Getting into the streaming business is not easy and there have been lots of obstacles I have had to overcome. The biggest one was getting my family to believe in my vision and turn it into a profitable business.

This vision started out small, now has reached millions of people to one day be streamers themselves. Visions can be blurry if there is not a clear concept on why I am doing what I chose to spend my time, energy, and effort. I had to walk many people down a road of the unknown and uncertainty. Just like any start up business, it takes years to grow a community and there are financial obligations one has to make. I took the biggest financial obligations at the time which was to invest in a $3500 dollar game pc, microphones, green screen, etc... I know we all come from different backgrounds and may not be able afford anything to start.

If I could give you one piece of advice for streaming, use what you have to make it work. There will be growing pains down the road, but it will be worth it in the end. If you would like to support my work for streaming email me and I will tell you how you can support my work of teaching others how to stream.
